Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026

This policy explains what information sweetjtherapy.com collects when you visit or contact us, and how we use it. It covers this website only. Once you become a client, your health information is protected under HIPAA and described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which we provide when you begin services and which you can request from us at any time.

Please don’t send health details through the website

Our website forms and email are for scheduling and general questions. Please don’t include details about your health, symptoms or history; we’ll gather what we need privately once we connect. Our forms and inboxes are not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.

Information you give us

When you fill out a form on this site, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, therapist preference and message. Form submissions are stored in our website system and emailed to our intake team so we can respond to you.

If you book through Zocdoc, your booking is handled by Zocdoc under its own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools that collect information about your visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you found us. We use:

  • Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site and which pages lead people to contact us. It is never sent anything you type into our forms.
  • Google Ads tags, to measure whether our ads lead to visits, when we advertise.
  • Jetpack statistics from our website host, to count visits.
  • Google reCAPTCHA, to keep spam out of our forms.

These providers process information under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

How we use information

We use information to respond to you, schedule appointments, check insurance benefits when you ask us to, improve this website and protect it from spam and misuse. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your form submissions for marketing.

Your choices

If you contacted us through the website and did not become a client, you can ask us to update or delete what you sent. If you are or were a client, your records are kept as the law requires and as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information sent through this site. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, which is another reason to keep health details out of website forms and email.

Children

This website is meant for adults. Parents and guardians can contact us on behalf of a child.

Jessica A. Sweet, LMFT, LCPC

Jessica’s training as a therapist began at Northwestern University, where she worked with couples, families, children, and individuals. Jessica uses a client-directed, empathetic approach to understand each client’s unique challenges and work collaboratively toward meaningful solutions. She strives to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring their experiences.

In her client-centered therapy, Jessica integrates cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT), dialectical behavior techniques (DBT), play therapy, art therapy, and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. She tailors her approach to each client’s individual needs, drawing on these therapeutic methods to support emotional expression, develop coping skills, and encourage personal growth.

Jessica is also an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Clinical Fellow. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes collaboration, empathy, and understanding the experiences that shape each person’s thoughts, emotions, and relationships. She works to help clients explore their challenges, build on their strengths, and develop practical strategies for navigating life’s difficulties.
